Do It Differently with [RocketDock]

Cory Blog, Customizations, Software, Windows

ROCKETDOCK brings windows users what other programs bring to the table, except they bring this “taskbar” application with some huge steps up. From their website, its main features are as follows:

  • Minimize windows to the dock
  • Real-time window previews in Vista
  • Running application indicators
  • Simple drag-n-drop interface
  • Multi-monitor support
  • Supports alpha-blended PNG and ICO icons
  • Icons zoom and transition smoothly
  • Auto-hide and Popup on mouse over
  • Positioning and layering options
  • Fully customizable
  • Completely Portable
  • ObjectDock Docklet support
  • Compatible with MobyDock, ObjectDock, RK Launcher, and Y’z Dock skins
  • Runs great on slower computers
  • Unicode compliant
  • Supports many languages and can easily be translated
  • A friendly user base 🙂
  • And best of all… its FREE!!!

When I downloaded this app, I put it on the left side of my screen, enabled “autohide” and replaced the usual picture icons with TEXT icons, some of which I made on my own thanks to Nuux’s Krzp Dock Icons v.1. And of course to get a real slimline effect on my desktop, I hid the desktop icons.
RocketDock is fully customizable, you can minimize open windows to the dock, use your own icons and change their transparency, size, and hover effect; change the docks location, use a bunch of different skins (as seen in the sample screen shot), and more found on their website.
