Way back when, I fell upon a site with countless free downloads and reviews on software applications, a not so little site called download.com. At download.com I can search for any type of software I want either by category, popularity, or by guessing. Then I can sort those results by paid, trial, or free, again by popularity, by rating, and more. Of course user reviews are my most treasured source. They’ll let ya know if the file for download is laced with spyware, if it’s buggy, or if it’s just plain awesome. I credit download.com for the majority of my wealth of knowledge and expertise as related to software…and gadgets.

Cnet.com is the site which runs download.com. Cnet.com is a bottomless well of resources for all things tech. At Cnet.com I can browse nearly any tech gadget, from phones, TVs, laptops, and, cameras, to applications, desktops, projectors, and mp3 players…and more. Editor’s reviews and User’s reviews- a wealth of knowledge. If you haven’t already, you seriously need to check out this site, especially before you go spend that tax return.
